Community Development Company Meeting

A meeting of the directors of the Community Development Company took place last night, at which the following matters were discussed:

1. Amendments to the Articles: Revision of the Articles of Association is almost complete.  An EGM has been called for 7pm on 9th January in the Learning Centre to adopt them.

2.  Kilchoan Shop: Once the new Articles are adopted, the Company will be in a position to exercise a right to buy on the shop.

3. Notice Boards: The company is still trying to source three new noticeboards.  The prices quoted so far have been far too high.

4. Access to Pontoons: Marine Harvest has planning permission for the development at Maclean's Nose and is likely to site a pontoon in the bay by the CalMac pier.  WACDC will be approaching MH to request that community use be permitted.

5. Petrol Station: WACDC understands that the present owner still hasn't talked to Highlands & Islands Enterprise about sourcing grants to replace the pumps.  At present, only one of the two UL pumps functions.

6. Website: The company agreed to explore the possibility of operating a community website.  It is proposed to build the website ourselves, with professional help.  If anyone would like to be involved in this, which would include training, please contact kilchoandiary@btinternet.com.  A copy of the proposal is here.

Full minutes will follow on this site.
