This year’s West Ardnamurchan Show & Sports was another resounding success with large crowds packing Kilchoan Playing Field. The success of the day was largely due to the perfect weather conditions which surpassed all expectations. The day hadn’t started out as planned with a sea fog stopping the first ferry from Tobermory running; this in turn affected the start of the Agriculture Show as we waited for the Sheep Judge to arrive from Mull. However the delay didn’t affect the running of the event and only provided for a well supported and entertaining Show. Thanks this year go to Sis MacDougall from Tobermory who judged the competitions and commented on the high quality of the entrants.
The main events of the day ran like clockwork, largely due to the support of volunteers and the hard work of the Committee.
My thanks go to everyone who attended the Show & Sports and donated money so generously at the gate. A huge thanks also has to go to the large number of volunteers who make all the difference to the success of the Show, this includes: all those who prepared the Playing Field; everyone who assisted with the setting up of the Show Field; all those to assisted with the tidy-up and repacking operation; Marjorie and Dodi; competition Judges; Emergency Responders; Lynn Prewitt; Kilchoan Community Centre; BBQ & Bar helpers; all those who assisted with competitions & races throughout the day.
Lastly, a massive thanks to the Show Committee members, family and friends for their continued hard work and commitment.

All competitors should meet the organisers at midday, with their prams, at the car park below the shop.
